HARVEST: FRUITION is a poster derived from an original collage by Deco, as inspired by a poem by Santa Fe Poet Laureate Joan Logghe, full of reminiscence for the past and hope for the future. Featuring the autumnal landscape of Northern New Mexico as viewed through an open adobe window, the collage was assembled from thousands of minute scraps of paper, mostly from magazines and catalogs. An aspen-strewn mountain stands against the brilliant blue sky, while the garden features an aspen shaking its full golden leaves. On the window sill, an oddly shaped pear sits besides a golden ring. Surprising images and words are hidden in the mix of the medium, drawing the viewer to return again to regard the image.
With over 25 years experience in creating cut paper mosaic collages, Deco has set up her new studio in Santa Fe in her home near the fastest growing arts district in the City Different.
