Water. I love it. This painting is inspired in prayer for the healing of water. It is a view as I would imagine from above. When seeing the larger picture with a “bird’s eye view” there is flow. Enjoy this 36 x 24 painting . Yellow, shades of purple and blue with a splash of gold.
I have always considered bodywork/massage therapy a creative healing art. The years I have spent exploring the wonder of the human body and the vast expanse of the inner landscape developed in me a strong, intuitive right brain and the ability to sense the nuances of the unseen worlds. This inner expanse seeks expression in the outside world through creative venues.
I began to give expression to this world through painting. I paint from the same expanded inner world from which divine moments of healing occur. It is a state I like to compare to that of the shamanic timeless now.
Painting allows me to enter that state of profound potential and express it in the material world. As an outcome is not projected, rather allowed to unfold in the Eternal Now, the finished painting is a revelation to me as well as, I hope, to others.
As a self-taught painter, there is still much to explore in the world of canvas and color. I walk through the world with more awareness of the beauty around me. I consciously stop to imprint the beauty of the light, the play of color, and the beauty of the landscape knowing that sometime, it may find its way out of the recesses of my subconscious and tell its story on canvas.
I graduated from college with a BA in Psychology and immediately went to massage school. I have been a practicing massage therapist for almost 30 years and I am a New Mexico Licensed Massage Therapist (#0547). My personal growth path and my continuing education have unfolded in a parallel fashion. Along with many technical massage classes focusing on structural alignment and massage technique, I have also completed a Master’s Herbalist course with Tieraona Lowdog, MD, studied Jin Shin Jyutsu with Mary Burmeister, taken classes in Japanese body and facial massage, and completed course study in therapeutic cupping through International Cupping Therapy Association.
For the past 24 years, I have worked as a massage therapist at Ten Thousand Waves, a world class spa located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
I see clients on an individual basis in my private practice.
